Several factors must be considered in order to select the appropriate direct thermal material for your application. Selecting the wrong product can lead to product failures or paying too much for an over engineered product.

Factors to consider when selecting include the environment and handling conditions. Non-topcoated technology continues to improve and is suited for more and more applications. However, when your label will be exposed to damp, oily or greasy conditions, a premium topcoated sheet would be required. Premium topcoated materials are also recommended for improved UV light, heat, rub and scratch resistance.
